Yes, you've guessed it, I have finally received my host family which I have been in contact with since!
I will be living in Potsdam and attending a gymnasium! So here's a little background information: Potsdam is the capital of the German State: Brandenburg and is around 15 miles from Berlin. This city was a residence of the German Kaiser until around 1918. Potsdam has many parks and historical buildings and is home to Sanssouci which is said to have been the former summer palace of King Frederick the Great and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Potsdam was also part of the former East Germany and following WW2 was under Soviet occupation.
In a matter of days, I will officially depart the states once again (but this time for a year.) Until then I am spending my time with family and getting to know my new family more!
That's all for now,
2 weeks till language camp!

What a wonderful time in PERU......
Well followers,
My time has ended in Peru an I would like to share just a few more exciting moments. If you remember when I begun this journey it was for Community Service and I did that, however I will say it was far more than. Community Service, it was like a home away from home. The people of our town (Pallata) will always remain in my heart and mind.
A big Thanks to Putney for giving me this amazing opportunity, much respect to both Kelly and Kristin for being such great travel companions, a shout-out to my fellow Putney group and an abundance of appreciation to the town and the People of Pallata.

Don't mind me, I'm paying attention. after all this is our lunch. It was being prepared the Andean way of Pachamanka. (lamb, chicken and a Variety of potatoes) Yum!! The smell was divine.
After we returned back to work, we decided to take a look at how our market would actually work, Here are a few villagers selling their homemade goods that we can use as keepsakes.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! is all I can say about the village that I'm living in, Look at the view....
We finished out our week with a bonfire that Feliciano and Miguel made for us. We also had a change to enjoy..... You guessed it S'mores, Popcorn and Hot Chocolate!!
My time here is coming to a sad end, however I am so happy to have been a part of such a great experience. This weekend we head to Machu Picchu, I can't wait to share those memories with you also....

We have also tried a variety of local foods, The other day I had Alpaca Kebabs, yep!!! I said it. They are commonly seen grazing and their wool is used for knitting and weaving. I ate it and it was pretty good. I also had a chance to have Ceviche!!! and it was Grreat!!! As you will notice I'm always trying the local food but after all this is about my Cultural Experience.
I know it might not seem like much yet but were working, The sun is a Killer!!! Good thing I have plenty of sunscreen and hat at all times.
Just a pose during our water break, it's best to capture the memories when you can!!
